What Are Captive Bead Rings?

One of the Body Jewelry Piercing which is picking up on popularity is captive bead rings which are also known as ball closure rings. These are basically rings with a bead in between which is held by the pressure of the ring. The captive bead fits into a small opening in the circle of the ring. If you have a look at the captive bead ring you would notice that the bead is larger than the opening and has small indent that let the ring’s end-points fit tightly against the ring, thus completing the circle of the ring. Often, a hole is drilled through the bead to allow easier fitting.

Captive Bead Rings can be easily wore and taken off either by applying hand pressure or by using some ring opening pliers.

These days’ captive bead rings are available in steel, crystal, acrylic, white gold, silver, yellow gold, titanium etc. You can find different styles and shades in these rings and are easily available online.
